Hivver is the solo guise of Joseph Quimby, a veteran of Glasgow’s underground music scene, current member of Remember Remember and frequent collaborator of dancer Iona Kewney. Sculpting his guitar into an unrecognisable fog of melodic ambience, Quimby has begun his own journey of redefining the sound of the six string, the weight of his drones surrounding the listener like the beautiful onset of an opiate. In the three long pieces featured on the tape, a sensitive grasp of both melody and emotion is present, teasing the inner ear with half heard motifs and the warming the body with earthen tones of nostalgia. Tombed Visions is proud to play host to artist of such burgeoning talent.

Karen Gwyer unfolds through three long and interesting pieces a focused array of old-school synthesizers and psychedelic influences. While the last track Hippie Fracca is much closer to ambient and could remind the soundtrack of a 70's movie taking place in space, the first two patiently build frenetic techno patterns holding an incredible emotional charge, climaxing in You Big when it combines the pump organ drones and the errating vocals.
